How AisaProfessional see’s it:
If you are successful or an outstanding individual, then you must consider your own financial situation as part of a lifetime plan. Part of that is to reduce overall risk through building up reserves and protection outside of core activities, and then handing them down to future generations in a sensible tax-efficient route. Part of this is the financial education of how to handle money, as too much money can cause as much a problem as too little.
When it comes to core earnings, or your core business, perhaps the most important aspect of your future success is the diversification of investment assets into other ventures. You should consider the risk to core activities, the risks that you can control, and the risks that you cannot, e.g. political.
Estate planning...
...is the process of accumulating and disposing of an estate to maximize the goals of the estate owner. The various goals of estate planning include making sure the greatest amount of the estate passes to the estate owner's intended beneficiaries, often including paying the least amount of taxes and avoiding or minimizing HMRC probate involvement. Additional goals typically include providing for and designating guardians for minor children and planning for incapacity.
The tools involved in estate planning include the will, various types of trusts, beneficiary designations, powers of appointment, various forms of property ownership (Joint tenancy with rights of survivorship, tenancy in common, tenancy by the entirety, etc), gifting, and powers of attorney, and a living will.
